Lunch at Buckingham Palace

Endeavour, a small, national charity working with disadvantaged young people, were offered the opportunity to host a luncheon at Buckingham Palace by their patron, the Duke of Kent, to celebrate the fantastic work that the charity does for young people, and to thank supporters of the charity.

Based in Sheffield, Endeavour provides alternative education provision and the support to succeed for ‘children missing from education’, and taking on some direct referrals from schools. Learners are predominantly new to the city or country, or may have difficulties coping in a traditional setting. Some have persistent disrupted attendance in education. Learners also represent many different nationalities, and may have been persecuted or marginalised in their home country; many are from dysfunctional families, may be in care or be at risk of exploitation, have been criminalised or have special educational needs.

Donna and the team at Woodside have forged a great relationship with Endeavour, and as a gesture of appreciation for Kier’s support Graham Booth, Endeavour’s Corporate Engagement Manager, provided Kier with two invitations to the event.

Donna Howard, CSR Manager, and Gareth Rondel, Head of Group Corporate Responsibility, attended the luncheon and were provided with an experience that won’t be forgotten!
