Altherleigh Park Hospital – Christmas tree donation

Following the completion of Atherleigh Park Hospital back in January, the team who handed the project over showed festive goodwill and came to the aid of staff and patients on the Sovereign Ward after hearing that the male ward was the only one at the brand new facility to not have had a tree donated. Chris Gregory, Senior Site Manager, took action and the project team donated a tree and decorations to the ward. This is the first Christmas at the hospital and staff and patients came together to decorate it just in time for the start of the festive season.

Atherleigh Park is the new £30 million mental health hospital located on Atherleigh Way in Leigh. Formerly Leigh East Amateur Rugby League ground, the 3.9-hectare site is now open and provides high quality inpatient services for adults with mental health problems, as well as patients with dementia and memory conditions.

Lesley Berry, Unit Manager of the Sovereign Ward, said “Thank you so much to Chris and Kier for donating a Xmas Tree to our unit. It helps us create a festive atmosphere for our patients during a difficult time in their lives”.
