Blackrod Primary School – Safety poster competition

In January Chris Gregory (Project Manager) and Dale Capstick (Trainee Site Manager) took Kiera in to meet the pupils of Blackrod Primary School where they are building an extension to the rear of the school.

Kiera and the project team delivered a safety assembly to the 180 pupils and teachers and answered questions from them about the new development. During the assembly Kiera and the project team launched their site safety poster competition and invited all pupils to submit their designs for safety messages that would feature on the site hoarding.
We received 30 in total to which the standard was really high.

Stuart Brown, Operations Manager, judged the competition and said;

“After further review and much deliberation the winner of the 2018 Blackrod Primary School Kier safety poster competition is Oliver A, of Year 5 (see right). The effort and imagination is clear to see and the numerous messages within the poster are extremely important, well thought through and detailed in different ways. It was a difficult decision and all posters were great and deserve congratulations!! Well done to everyone.”

The pupils enjoy seeing their artwork up on site hoardings offering a reminder of the importance of safety when you have a building site within the school grounds.
