Supply Chain Engagement Event – Shakespeare North

Kier Northern recently hosted a Supply Chain Engagement Event at the Suites Hotel in Knowsley. This was to fulfil a commitment made within the Shakespeare North ITT submission and was also supported by our client Knowsley Council and the Knowsley Chamber of Commerce (the event was promoted as part of Knowsley’s Construction Forum roll out).

With our new client in attendance, the event presented a great opportunity to showcase the terrific work we undertake across the Liverpool City Region as well as giving the local Supply Chain greater insight in to our prestigious Shakespeare North project and future tendering opportunities. A number of new Knowsley based SME’s have come on to our radar through the event and the challenge going forward will be to try and utilise some of these businesses on Shakespeare North to demonstrate our commitment to supporting the “Knowsley Pound”.

The event was spilt in to two sessions – one involved a presentation from the Kier team and covered the following areas;

Kier in Liverpool/Opportunity
Vision for Knowsley (delivered by Knowsley Council)
Shakespeare North Case Study
Kier approach to CSR
Kier approach to Supply Chain
The SCAPE framework – A conduit for small SME’s
Q&A

Session two offered the supply chain one to one sessions with various members of the Kier team, members of the Knowsley Growth team and Constructionline, who were also in attendance to offer pre-qualification advice and support. The venue was full to capacity and we engaged with over 80 local organisations. The feedback both on the day and post event has been extremely positive. A big thank you to all of the Kier team that made the event a success.
