Work Experience Placements in Yorkshire

On the 2nd July to the 6th July, the Leeds office was joined by two young people on a work experience placement. Ciara and Rhianna were both very interested in design management, and had secured work experience with Kier following mock interviews at their school.

We arranged for Ciara and Rhianna to spend time with our design managers, including time at our York Hospital site with Graduate Design Manager Richard Shuttleworth. The girls also visited sites at Astrea Academy (Sheffield) and St Albans Place (Leeds) to understand the different kinds of projects that Kier is involved in. They also spent some time with Philomena England and Rebecca Calam to hear their perspective on the industry.

On their final day, Rhianna and Ciara gave a presentation to Nick Shepherd on their experiences for the week; they were inspired to take up a career in design management following their week with Kier, and look forward to entering the industry.

Many thanks to all involved for your help and support.
