FA Parklife – Charity Football Tournament

The project team working on the FA Parklife sites for NWCH Framework partner, Kier, have been busy working to raise money for charities and local community groups through various activities, including a football tournament at the Simpson Ground on Friday 10th August.

The day was set up in a tournament style with over 100 players consisting of 2 groups of 6 teams playing 10-minute, one-way games and included refreshments and a raffle. The teams were supported by colleagues and the top 2 teams from each group progressed into the semi-finals and ultimately, the final.

The event raised over £3000 for local charities including the Liverpool Homeless Charity and saw guest appearances from Liverpool and England right back, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Former Liverpool and Ireland striker, John Aldridge who gave the presentation at the end of the tournament. Winners Provsec were given a trophy and certificate, celebratory drinks and £150 prize money and runners-up Mottram received a certificate, drinks and £75 runners-up prize money.

Many thanks to the project team, all who attended and provided raffle prizes and those who played and helped make the day such a great success.
