What a week!! We interacted with over 1900 early careers apprentices during National Apprenticeship Week in the Liverpool and Wales region. The events that took place were:
Ellsmere Port College
We supported construction and business students at Ellsmere Port discussing Trade and professional apprenticeships, work placements and qualifications and experience required. On the day we supported over 50 students.
St Margarets, School Assembly
We took part in a school assembly explaining careers in construction. Wayne Blair and Joe O’Reily explained their routes into construction from apprenticeships and university. We also explained the new apprentice schemes and opportunities at Kier. Over 150 students attended.
Liverpool College and Wirral Schools
Nick Orton and Natalie McGuckin took part in a speed careers event, answering quick-fire questions from 50 students on their career choices and routes into construction. A total of 50 students attended.
We also supported Wirral Chamber of Commerce with a careers fair where over 1500 children attended to learn more about apprenticeships and roles in construction.
Christleton High School, Chester
Sixth form students presented their Extended Project Qualification studies to their parents, peers and the wider community. Topics included ‘social media and what makes a good marketing campaign’. The event supported Young Chamber in Chester and North Wales Chamber of Commerce.
Coleg Cambria, Deeside
On International Women’s Day, we held live streaming of key females in construction with the CITB and held have a go events including “guess my role”. This event was supported by Lisa Pearman and over 200 girls attended.
We managed to provide apprentice information to over 1900 young people in just one week with the fantastic help of our Shaping Ambassadors and colleagues from our Liverpool office.
