Christ The Word School – Open Doors Launch Event

On a beautiful sunny day in Rhyl, we held an event at the Christ The Word school to officially begin Open Doors in Wales.

Open Doors, a unique chance to see behind the scenes at major ‘live’ construction sites in Wales will launch at Christ The Word School, Rhyl at 2pm on Thursday March 14th 2019.

The Open Doors campaign, an initiative led by Build UK, in partnership with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) will take place across Wales, Scotland and England from March 18-23.

The campaign will provide the public with an opportunity to discover how the buildings and structures in their community are constructed. This year’s campaign will see 15 sites open to the public across Wales (full list with links in Notes to Editors.

The event was attended by people from CITB, Denbigshire Council, staff and students from the Blessed Edward School and the Lady Mayoress, Cllr Win Mullen-James.

The new steel frame building is set to open in autumn 2019, completion set for summer 2020. The new school will be for 420 full time pupils aged 3-11 and 500 pupils aged 11-16.

Heather Shafer, Administrator on the project, brought in her welsh flag that her daughter, Erin let us borrow for the day. Erin is very proud to be welsh and was extremely excited her flag was being used for such an occasion!
