NHSBT Blood Centre – progress on site

Recently our project, NHSBT Blood Centre at Barnsley has had a crane on site for the lifting of the plant materials onto the roof, with the help of HE Barnes. A second lift took place the following week for the remaining plant materials to be lifted into place.

The project is currently going well and the Client is pleased with progress on site. The design is completed and the clean room contractor started on site at the beginning of August. The mechanical and electrical works are progressing well along with drylining and plastering continuing on both floors.

Debbie Richard (Hospital Service Lab Manager) visited site to have a look at the lab we are building for her department. After her visit she said:

“Great visit to site this week to see the hospital services areas and the whole site. It was great to see it coming together and I can’t imagine all the immense and hard work put in by so many people to bring this site together, as well as all the work going on in Sheffield and Leeds to bring everyone together and make this a great place to work. I was impressed with the eco-friendly approach from solar panels to wild flowers and also the passion behind all the work.”
