Spen Valley Leisure Centre – progress on site

Our £15m Spen Valley Leisure Centre project in Kirklees is progressing well on site with the following activities taking place:

  • Tilers are doing final snags to the learner pool ready for filling with water
  • HE Barnes are undertaking commissioning works on the project prior to completion
  • Specialist soft floorings are being installed on level 1 in the large gym area
  • Builders clean has begun

Spen Valley Leisure Centre is being built on the site of the original Spenborough Pool and includes a two-storey, two-pool complex. It has a double-height foyer which leads to wet changing areas as well as multi-activity spaces. There is a mezzanine which has dry changing areas, a gym, exercise studios and spectator seating.

The centre aims to be inclusive for all members of the community including facilities for people with disabilities, a design which is dementia friendly and a cafe.
