Engagement with the University West Scotland

We are working with University West Scotland as part of our engagement for the Paisley Museum Re-Imagined project and earlier this month two members of the project team visited the university to deliver a presentation to their civil engineering students.

  • The session covered topics including:
  • Introduction to Kier and the construction management team
  • Highlight graduate opportunities
  • Overview of site works and what is involved
  • Areas such as BIM, Digital, and environmental in construction practice
  • Q&A

The session was a great success and Stuart Tennant, Civil Engineering and Technology Management lecturer said: “Thank you for the presentation and taking the time to introduce the Paisley Museum Re-Imagined project to our UWS 4th Year Civil Engineering students.

The presentation was very informative and covered the scope of the project. The links between civil engineering, construction management, and temporary works were excellent, and it was good to see career opportunities presented and made accessible to students who graduate this year – very important career advice.

UWS Civil Engineering looks forward to working with the Kier project management team in the near future and I will initiate talks with my colleagues to explore opportunities for further engagement including site visits and guest presentations.

Thanks again for the time and effort, very much appreciated.”
