Build UK 2020 challenge – Donation to Big Change Manchester

On Monday 23rd October, Directors from Kier were honoured by a visit from The Lord Mayor of Manchester, Cllr Eddy Newman as they formalised Kier Group’s signing of the Manchester Homelessness Charter at the FSSC offices.

Kier Construction Northern proudly donated 50 branded t-shirts and a £1000 cheque to the charity founder, Eleanor Watts and Mooch, formerly homeless and now the charity’s administrator, from money raised via the 2020 Challenge earlier this year. FSSC staff donated selected items; such as toiletries and socks from various office initiatives, much to the surprise of both.

The Manchester Homelessness Charter aims to put an end to homelessness and calls on the citizens of Manchester, businesses and other organisations to adopt the values of the charter; and to implement it through improved working practices.

The full charter can be read here: Read the charter

A very big thank-you to all who participated in the 2020 Challenge – as a group we will continue to support the Big Change Agenda and raise funds for the various charities included within the Manchester Homelessness Partnership.
