Completion of Mavis Valley Waste Transfer Facility

We have recently completed the successful handover of the £2.3m Mavis Valley Waste Transfer Station in Bishopbriggs. The project was delivered through the Scape Minor Works Framework for our Client, East Dunbartonshire Council.

The redeveloped facility will ensure efficient waste collection and disposal is achieved in the surrounding area for the foreseeable future.

Works comprised the demolition of an existing steel framed facility and the full design, construction and commissioning of the new premises. The new steel framed structure is enclosed with a single skinned profiled metal roof and wall system with precast concrete push walls internally. The two weighbridges installed during the contract will be linked to an external facility for accurate recording of waste data. A steel lined, structural framed hopper controls the delivery of the waste from the tipping area to the sorting area below.
