CSR activities in Liverpool

Kaplan International College

On the 15th February, the Kaplan site in Liverpool held a site visit for 14 architectural students from Liverpool City College which involved a site tour and explantation of the BIM input. This was one scheduled group visit for 16 students out of 240 that are due to visit the site over a period of time.

FA Parklife, Heron Eccles

On the 21st February, the FA Parklife project hosted a visit to the students at Booker Avenue Infant School. Kieran was also in attendance for their school assembly, where a talk on health and safety on a building site was delivered by Emma Tyler and Ellesse Doyle to over 270 students.

PrintAlso on FA Parklife, Emma Tyler (Graduate Site Manager), undertook a site visit with students from Hugh Baird College for a walk around and a presentation on the scheme. This is part of an ongoing arrangement she has with the College that every site Emma is on, a visit is organised.

PrintNeston Leisure Centre

We were asked to attend a second careers fair at Neston High School on the 25th January 2018 where we provided careers advice and routes into construction to both pupils and parents from Neston High School, which is adjacent to our site at Neston Leisure Centre. Following the visit, a number of pupils have expressed an interest in construction and a 6th form student is starting work experience on site at the end of February.

Connah’s Quay High School

Sheryl Moore, Gareth Leek and Michael Atherton attended a careers event on the 31st January at Glyndrw University, where they provided construction career advice and routes into the industry to over 835 pupils from local schools.

Huntington Primary School

During our new build project at Huntington Primary School, through the North West Construction Hub, we have been supporting the Work Zone based in Chester, who offer support to individuals in identifying and developing job hunting and employability skills. Dan Hampson provided some practical advice and shared his experiences in construction. 16 unemployed people are undertaking a CSCS course and we have provided an opportunity of a site tour and work experience when they have passed their studies.
