St Mary’s School, Malton – steel signing ceremony

Kier has marked a major project milestone at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School, Malton.

To recognise the completion of the projects steel frame, Kier held a steel signing ceremony inviting key delegates from the local Catholic community including the parish priest, Tim Bywater. Also in attendance was the headteacher of the school, David Harrison, as well as teaching staff and school governors. The Bishop of Middlesbrough, Terence Drainey also attended the event to bless the build.

The £3m build will provide a single-storey teaching block for pupils aged 11-14 years. It will also include a school chapel, learning resource centre and dedicated space for training. Attached to this block will be a two-storey building incorporating a large school hall, toilets and an additional teacher training space.

Kier has been on site since April 2018, with an expected completion date of Spring 2019.
