Volunteer week in Liverpool

In 2017/18, 20.1 million people in the UK volunteered formally at least once a year and 11.8 million of people did so at least once a month. In Kier North West through our support of Kier Ambassadors and colleagues we have supported 76 events from the 1st January 2019 to the 7th June 2019 and we have provided construction careers support to over 4000 children and 673 adults.

From the 1st to the 7th June we supported Volunteer Week through a number of our sites, colleagues and supply chain.

The Heath project, led by Andy Ellis organised for D Morgan to donate topsoil for planters to the school and we have now created lovely planting areas for the children to enjoy.

Rhyl School led by Martin Walsh and Dan Hampson organised, though DRP Joinery, to donate a bench for the Denbighshire Voluntary Services Council for volunteers to enjoy the outdoor space in Ruthin and create a local safe space.

Merseycare and Connah’s Quay – Assistant Site Managers Dafydd Jones from Merseycare and Will Moss from Connah’s Quay volunteered to expand the allotment for Northfield Community Centre. The centre is run by The Inclusion Network who provide youth and community services in Bootle. We also roped in Kayla who was on work experience from Fusion 21. They were also supported by other local companies including Marks and Spencers, The Big Trust Charity and Amion Consulting.
