School of Digital Arts – progress on site

Our project for Manchester Metropolitan University, the School of Digital Arts (SODA) continues to make good progress as it gets closer to its planned completion in the summer.

Works that are taking place on site are:

  • Envelope works are nearing completion, which has seen the removal of most of the mast climbers along with the goods hoist
  • LED installation complete to the elevations
  • All internal wall are complete
  • Flooring installed in the toilet areas and comms rooms
  • M&E works nearing completion on the ground and 1st floors and we are making good progress on the remaining four floors
  • Commissioning works have commenced
  • New substation is live and there is now permeant power into the building
  • Gas and water connections are complete
  • The specialist multipurpose studio is coming together with the installation of the tiering frame

The School of Digital Arts is an interdisciplinary school at MMU – a £35m investment into the workspaces, networks, teaching and research that will drive the next generation of creative content.

In the future, over 1,000 students per year, will study disciplines that span film, animation, UX design, photography, games design, AI and more, often working on live projects with industry partners, frequently collaborating with fellow students and researchers.
