Roddy Graham – Construction Manager of the Year Finalist

Roddy Graham, Senior Project Manager in the North East region has been confirmed as a finalist for this year’s Construction Manager of the Year Awards 2021 in the ‘Schools over £20m’ category.

Roddy was the project leader for the unique integrated Ponteland Schools & Leisure development for Northumberland County Council. The £46m scheme included a primary school, high school and leisure centre in one integrated campus, with a fire station also included within the site compound.

Of the nomination Roddy said: “Being a Ponteland resident, I am delighted to have been involved in this unique integrated development, the first of its kind on this scale in the country. With the client having previously been let down by their previous contractor, it was integral that we helped them achieve affordability and also manage the multiple stakeholders involved. Each with their own vision and desires, the end result is a world class facility that I’m delighted to have led successfully, and I can take pride I have delivered this within my community.”

The Construction Manager of the Year Awards, run by the CIOB every year since 1978, acknowledge and highlight the achievements of those who deliver projects and buildings to extraordinary standards and make a positive impact on the lives of the people who use them. The ceremony is being held in London on the 29th September and we wish Roddy every success at the awards.
