We are delighted to confirm that we have been shortlisted in three categories at the upcoming Learning Places Scotland Awards for 2021.
The awards are to celebrate Excellence & Achievement in Scottish Education and we have been shortlisted in the following categories:
Pupil / Student Experience
Queen Margaret Academy
By involving pupils at every stage of the development, we have provided a learning establishment which has significantly improved the pupils’ learning, social experiences and health and wellbeing.
Innovation in Delivering Value
Alness Academy
Using the latest technology at every stage of the development of this
new learning space, we found innovative ways to collaborate on the
design and construction of Alness Academy.
Contractor of the Year
Kier
Contributing to the Scottish education sector from early years through to university, we have delivered, or are delivering, over £170 million of education projects in last 18 months.
Of the nominations Phil McDowell, regional director for Kier Construction said: “Kier is delighted that two of the schools we have recently completed have been nominated for awards at the Learning Places Scotland Conference. Alness Academy has been nominated for Innovation in Delivering Value which is a testament to the high levels of quality achieved on this building and the transparent use of digital technology that we shared with our client and other stakeholders.
Queen Margaret Academy has been nominated for Pupil Experience and Inspiring Learning Spaces. This reflects the quality of the space and the way the design for the school evolved with significant pupil involvement. It’s also great to see that we have been nominated for Contractor of the Year which further enhances our position in the industry.”
