English 3000 Challenge for End Youth Homelessness

On Friday morning at 5am, a group of 12 employees, led by Peter Gleave, set off to undertake one of the hardest endurance challenges that the UK has to offer, the English 3000 Mountain Challenge in the Lake District. There are 4 mountains in the Lake District that stand over 3000ft, they are Skiddaw, Helvellyn, Scafell and Scafell Pike. The challenge was to summit all four mountains in under 24 hours! They started their journey in Keswick and the first peak to complete was Skiddaw. Once this was done, they headed back down into Keswick then through Borrowdale to Scafell, picking up this summit via Lords Rake, a challenging grade one scramble. Once complete, they headed back down to Mickledore via Fox’s Gill and started their steep ascent to the summit of Scafell Pike. One of the hardest parts of the whole challenge was to climb High Raise, a mountain just under 3000ft that sits between Scafell Pike and Helvellyn, leaving High Raise at dusk they headed into the dark to pick up their support teams to have their final break before they started the journey through the night and into the early hours of Saturday to the final peak, Helvellyn. The team battled gale force winds and poor visibility across high ground for most of the day but they pressed on and achieved the challenge with 5 minutes to spare! Well done to you all – Peter Gleave, James Webster, Nicola Ridgeway, Allan Mannion, Richard Anderson, Peter Finegan, Ben Bolton, Tom Disley, James Donafee, Dale Capstick, Leam McMaster and Sean Terron. Not to forget a thank you to...

Donation to Studio FV

Through the Paisley Museum project, we engaged with Engage Renfrewshire to advise that we had a community grant available for local third sector organisations, who could apply to receive the funding. The Paisley Museum project team collectively reviewed the applications and selected one applicant to receive the financial donation. StudioFV was chosen to receive the £1,000 donation and Lindsey McNaughtan (CSR Manager) and Alistair Lyon (Senior PM) recently presented them with the cheque. A representative from Studio FV said: “The support we received from Kier Construction is fantastic and has gone towards expanding our digital media and learning platforms. With this help, we are able to reach out to people remotely with whom we may not have been able to engage with before. With the effects of the pandemic and lockdowns still looming large on the world, working remotely has become more important than ever for individuals, businesses, and the economy. By combining our in-person and remote working methods we open up more CV development, volunteering, and employment opportunities to the local community and beyond. A huge thank you to everyone at Kier Construction.“ You can find out more about Studio FV...
