Virtual workshops with The Sheffield College

Last month Donna Howard, CSR Manager, delivered four virtual workshops for the Kier Construction Academy students at The Sheffield college and these workshops are part of the colleges Employers Skills Academy Scheme.

The Academy allows a hand-selected group of construction students to work closely with representatives from Kier, in order to develop their professional industry knowledge and to build on the practical experience they have gained in the classroom. The first two sessions covered Site Management, Site Health & Safety and Construction Phase Plans and they were delivered by Steven Fry, Senior Site Manager.

Students engaged really well during the session, asking some great questions throughout and as part of our sponsorship of their Construction Classroom further events will be held.

The second two sessions were on design and architecture and we had guest speakers from Race Cottam who have worked with Kier on a number of projects.
