As surprises go, this was definitely up there for Donna. Unknown to her, Julie Steward submitted a secret application for Donna under the category of Achiever of the Year at the CIOB Awards in Sheffield. Once shortlisted, Donna was informed that she had been entered for the award. Twelve entries were submitted and Donna was one of the five shortlisted.
On Friday 13th October (not unlucky for Kier), the Yorkshire team attended the prestigious awards at the Cutlers Hall in Sheffield.
Achiever of the Year was the first award of the evening and as soon as it was announced that Donna was the winner, the Kier table brought the roof down with all their cheers and celebrations.
Kier had also been shortlisted in the second category of Social Value Award for the sleep out in Sheffield as part of the 2020 challenge.
