Darley Street Markets – progress on site

Works to the Darley Street market project are progressing well and the demolition phase is nearing completion. Works happening on site currently are:

  • To the North of the site (M&S building) the demolition is completed and the final clearing of the demolition rubble is taking place.
  • To the South of the site they are installing an external scaffold around Nr 8 Darley Street to assist the deconstruction of this final building.
  • In the middle of the site they are preparing for the arrival of the rock anchor piling rig. Piling is planned to start in the middle of March under the two concrete lift cores.
  • New hoarding installed opposite the Kirkgate Centre

As the project now comes out of the demolition phase, more focus on CSR activities can take place, and below is a snapshot of what we have achieved to date:
